Project Overview: Industrial Off-Grid Power for Zimbabwe Operations

Location: Harare, Zimbabwe | Date: Q4 2024
Capacity: 65KW Off-Grid Solar Power System | Application: Industrial/Commercial

An industrial facility in Zimbabwe required a self-sufficient 65KW off-grid solar power system to replace unreliable grid electricity and eliminate diesel generator dependency.

The Anern team delivered a complete turnkey off-grid solution engineered for heavy commercial loads with round-the-clock power assurance.

The Installer's Challenge: Grid Instability & High Fuel Costs

The contractor faced persistent grid outages averaging 8-12 hours daily, forcing the client to run diesel generators that consumed over 200 litres of fuel per day.

Fuel supply chain disruptions, generator maintenance costs exceeding budget projections, and voltage fluctuations damaged sensitive industrial equipment.

The client required a detailed financial projection before committing to the capital investment. Anern provided modelling based on the off-grid solar ROI calculation methodology to demonstrate projected savings.

The Anern Solution: 65KW Off-Grid Solar System for Industrial Reliability

Anern supplied a fully integrated off-grid hybrid solar system consisting of high-capacity PV arrays, industrial-grade inverters, and a substantial lithium battery bank.

The system was designed around modular commercial solar systems architecture, enabling rapid deployment and future scalability for expanding industrial loads.

For high-density energy storage, the configuration incorporated 60kWh high voltage battery banks alongside 80kW commercial solar storage components to handle peak industrial loads.

Off-Grid System Configuration & Installation Details

The 65KW system was configured with three parallel inverter units, a 128kWh LiFePO4 battery bank featuring 51.2V 300Ah floor-standing battery modules, and 180kWp of PV panels.

Solar power system components were pre-assembled at Anern's factory, reducing on-site installation to just 5 days. The plug-and-play design enabled rapid deployment in remote industrial environments.

Anern's 30kW industrial solar system architecture was scaled up with additional 50kW hybrid solar system modules to reach the 65kW target capacity.
